Tracking Your Cash Flow

Calculating spending targets is an important first step in gaining control of your finances, but it’s easy to overspend without realizing it. This cash flow tool helps you quickly spot when this happens so you can bring your spending back into line before doing too much damage to your budget.

Transfer the spending targets for each spending category in Column G on the Your Monthly Income and Spending Tracker tool to Column A of the Tracking Your Cash Flow tool.

At the end of each month, record the amount you actually spend on each category in Column B. Compare the Targeted and Actual spending. In Column C, record the amount by which you either exceeded or beat the target.
